In Buffalo, nurseries are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in New York, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Check the listing for hours, seasonal closures and Google rating before you go.

Great selection and friendly & knowledgeable staff! They have helped me so many times with selecting the right plant for the right conditions. Love that they have information sheets about their plants hanging throughout the nursery so you can go off of those too.

The women who was working on Saturday was incredibly knowledgeable and patiently answered all of my questions while I browsed through the wide selection of native plants. Everything was clearly marked, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. While checking out, I was given some basic care/planting advice which is incredibly helpful and appreciated as I’m newer to gardening and especially to native plants. I will absolutely be returning as we expand our garden.

It's great to have a business in Buffalo that specializes in local, native plants. There's a lot of hard work that goes into raising plants and I give a lot of credit to Primeval Forest Nursery for managing so many different native species. Check this place out with an open mind and ideas for shady to sunny, wet to dry garden spaces. I took home 3 native species and I'm going to utilize my green thumb to keep them healthy. I was happy I checked out Prineval Forest Nursery!

I visited Primeval Forest last weekend to pick up a few new plants for my garden this year. I've recently been learning more about the benefits of native plants and I was excited to find a nursery that focused specifically on that. They had the plants I was looking for, plus a ton of other options that were fun to look through and pick out based on what would work for the conditions in my gardens. Everything looked healthy and there were a lot of different size options. The staff was super helpful with finding specific plants and explaining plant care. I'll definitely be back for more native plants!

I missed her name, but the woman who was working Monday spent so much time guiding me to the plants on my list, giving me more info about them, and suggesting alternatives for those that weren't available or didn't suit our garden's conditions. I was up front about probably not being ready to purchase anything today and she was still really attentive and kind. Ended up buying 2 strawberry plants that I'm pretty excited about and plan to come back later in the season!
